Died 24th April 1923, aged 73, Doctor John Bradford MD LRCP born in Glasgow, graduated from Glasgow and Edinburgh Univ in 1878.
He practiced in Carluke for 44 years, at first in the High Street then in a cottage in Stewart Street and then at Flakefield House in Carluke. In 1889 he became practioner for the poor. Then also as practitioner for the Carluke Order of Forresters and the Rachabites. Eventually the stress affected his health and he took on Dr Watson from Rothesay to assist him.
A violinist of some note, he formed Carluke Chorale Society with Mr Crone (late Stationmaster), Mr James Orrock , Mr John Henshilwood and John Jeffrey.
He was a member of the Original Secessionist Church being greatly attached its minister Dr Smellie. He is survived by three sons and four daughters.
